I wrote my first article. This post is a witness post to show that I wrote it before 2006. I still have to edit it, and add the pics, but the article is there. Stay posted ! It had to be written before 2006. Also a few journal entries will be made. They will be back-dated as they concern the past (various little things). So stay updated !

Roger Waters... mmm is about 40 hours away !!!! Can you believe it ? The lead singer from Pink Floyd !!!!!!!!! The Pink Floyd one of the greatest band on this half blue half gray planet.
I am excited. Dark Side of the Moon... being performed by Roger Waters, the main songwriter from Pink Floyd... !!!!!! Dark Side of the Moon was an album made by the Pink Floyd in 1973. Various themes are explored such as time, greed, death, conflict... Dark Side of the Moon is a masterpiece in the history of human musical history considering that it was, is and will be a reference to any audiophilles. One day, the Pink Floyd will be greatly explained on this website, but trsut me, they are exceptional. I will write more about them, whenever i start to write serious articles... Of course I will dedicate them a full section. Well if Pink Floyd was a woman.... Well, can't wait to see Roger Waters.... Dark Side of the Moooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn !

This is how our world works. From one day to another the whole world can learn something, and act upon it. I had no idea who "Steve Irwin" also known as the "crocodile hunter" was. I learned about his death by a stingray a few days ago. First I investigated the reason why I did not know this naturalist. I blamed it on the fact that I lived most of my life in non-english speaking countries and as a result had no media exposure to Steve Irwin. But why was it such a big deal ? Why such a media frenzy around just one man ? He was well known in the western world and his death was quite unique. He dided from a stingray shot in the heart.
Dying in such circumstances is like winning the jackpot. Well he obviously did not win the jackpot.
A few minutes ago I was reading the news, and I got very interested by what I read. Australian authorities were investigating an increase of stingrays killings. The killings were very most likely attributed to Steve's fans to revenge his death (go figure...)
I respect Steve Irwin. I am not protesting the coverage he has been getting by the media and am glad for him if he is being respected. But what was interesting is that there were actually people that acted upon the media coverage. They took actions. Even I took actions even though I had no idea who this man was. What prompted me to write this post is maybe the more in dept view that I got from this event.
Yes his death is "amazing", "rare", but to me dying this way is more concerning and maybe should get more media coverage than a crocodile hunter. Or maybe should get the proper coverage.
Maybe with the proper media coverage Steve's fans will realize that there are more important things before trying to revenge Steve Irwin by killing innocent stingrays... ? Maybe the media just doesn't show these things, because most of us like happy endings, or smiley naturalists being killed by stingrays... maybe we are going the wrong way... That's why at the end of the day, never leave your plate with food. It's not about not be able to "send the food to africa" as some people mentioned to me, but it's about being aware. When enough people are aware, a lot of things tend to improve on their own...

Musuem of Tribal art (Musee du Quai Branly) opened recently in Paris. Also known as Musuem of Arts and Civilizations or Museum of Primitive Arts, this museum holds various indigenous art from Africa, Asia and Oceanie. I am a bit disapointed to not see any South American or Native indians art. The museum is quite unique considering that it speaks not only about the history of France, but also various other places in the world. Next time I will be in France, this will definitively be worth a look I hope I won't get too crazy about the numerous masks there will be!

The Iron Ring has been registered and may be worn on the little finger of the working hand by any engineer who has been obligated at an authorized ceremony of the Ritual of the Calling of the Engineer. The ring symbolizes the pride which engineers have in their profession, while simultaneously reminding them of their humility. The ring serves as a reminder to the engineer and others of the engineer's obligation to live by a high standard of professional conduct. (http://www.ironring.ca) I got this ring in 2005... last year.. But a few months ago, in January, I unfortunately lost it... Of course I felt very naked... and had to get another one Me and the ring, it's a long story... This year Ring Day was the 17th of March 2006, and as I was going to work... I had to grab something from my bag... and there I discovered my ring. No need to say the joy. It is only later that I realized through friends that the day I found my ring was Ring Day... A lot of coincidences... that only have values for me...

Today the Sorouche Mobil (Volkswagen Golf) reached 45'000 km. The little kid has not caused me trouble so far and it's been a nice ride. Hopefully it will keep going on like that. At the moment due to the winter it needs some serious cleaning however...

For a second time I lost my library card... The first time I lost it ... I went and got another one. A few days later I noticed my card on the bin board at the entrance of the building. This relates to another loss... an audio cd I had borrowed from the library. Well, when I went in the library to tell them that I had lost one of their cds and was ready to pay the price... I was being told that someone had brought it back for me. A few days ago, I lost again my card... Yes I should start using my wallet which is 6years old and still looks new. This time, I found back the library card under my door... That's one of the advantages of living in a small town

So here it is again a new year... I will have problems again ... writting 2005 instead of 2006 for a while ... But with a new year new resolutions of course. One of the most important being that I will work a lot more on this website... I keep saying it ... but I feel it coming .. trust me In reality I know what I want to do, I just can't seem to be able to find the time... And also for the new year I am offering you, free of charge a very great calendar. A yellow one. So just click on the picture, and you will get a full calendar with no ads, nothing. Am I not nice ???! Feel free to print to of course... Another sad point for year 2005 is the top search of keywords: 1 Britney Spears 2 50 Cent 3 Cartoon Network 4 Mariah Carey 5 Green Day 6 Jessica Simpson 7 Paris Hilton 8 Eminem 9 Ciara 10 Lindsay Lohan
That shows how much the net is becoming like TV... We had one of the best tools for our self development and we ended up destroying it ...

25 years ago... John Lennon died from the shots of a man and fan he had shaken his hand with and signed an autograph. It was December 8, 1980 in New York City. Mark David Chapman met Lennon as he was leaving the Dakota building for a recording session. Lennon signed Chapman's copy of 'Double Fantasy' while Chapaman stayed around. At around 10.50pm, Yoko Ono (Lennon's wife) followed by Lennon stepped out of the limousine to proceed to the Dakota building. As Lennon was entering the building he glanced at Chapman and proceeded on to go through the entrance of the building. At that moment Chapman crouched a "combat" position and fired five bullets. Four of them penetrated Lennon's body, one of them will be fatal. Lennon shot at the aorta managed to take six steps up to the concierge booth, where he finally collapsed gasping the unfamous words: "I'm shot, I'm shot". Chapaman without an arm after it was being taken away by Jose Perdomo, stood calmy and read Salinger's novel, "The Catcher in the Rye". When Perdomo asked him "What have you done, what have you done", he simply replied: "I just shot Lennon". 25 minutes later in the police car, since it was being judged that waiting for an ambulance would put Lennon's life more at risk, Lennon passed out. With over 80% of his blood lost, Lennon was pronounced dead at his arrival at the hospital. Howard Cosell, legendary football announcer, announced on ABC Lennon's dead against wishes of his producers: This, we have to say it, remember this is just a football game, no matter who wins or loses. An unspeakable tragedy confirmed to us by ABC News in New York City. John Lennon, outside of his apartment building on the West Side of New York City, the most famous perhaps of all the Beatles, shot twice in the back, rushed to Roosevelt Hospital, dead…on…arrival. One famous quote from Lennon is from 1960 after he was being asked how he thought he woulddie he replied: "I'll probably be popped off by some loony." Another interestng fact is in his last interview where he said that he often felt that somebody was stalking him (federal agents in the 1970s trying to deport him and later the obsessed fan in 1980.) And here it goes how the life of someone that could have changed the world disappear.... (More on Lennon when I start the Articles section... )

I don't like to take out my wallet, because I am scared to lose it, it's too big, it's annoying to carry around... I have always thought of making photocopies of my driving licence, and other cards... and show them when needed... I wonder if that would be valid ? Anyways sometimes I don't have a choice, I have to take my wallet. For example when I travel. I was at Montreal, and went to the library since it was just in front of the place I had to take the Bus back to Ontario. In that library there was a little nice store selling... Tintin cards... Of coure the temptation was too big so I bought a few Tintin stuff... and I left. I was checking my emails later on, when I got an email from my uncle telling me that I had lost my wallet at X store at Y place. No need to say that my brain managed right away to realize that I had forgotten my wallpaper in that store I bought the Tintin stuff. I went right away downstairs and got it from the lady. She was surprised that I was there to get back my wallet...and then I explained her the story... and she explained me hers... she looked in my wallet and looked my name on the net, called the first person she found with the same last name. And it was my uncle. My uncle sent me an email and everything was solved She did not know I was coming... she had already planned to post it...she had wrapped it around a paper printed from www.411.ca (where she found my uncle's address)
When I got back my wallet, she said it "is going to be such a nice day" ... And happy I walked away...

I was at Montreal and went for the Climate Change march. It was quite fun. I don't know how many people showed up, about 40,000 apparently, or 20,000 according to others... The numbers don't really matter. I was glad to be there. The march was peacefull and festive. I don't know how many people it will affect, but even if it's one person it's worth it. It was too bad it was a bit cold, maybe more people would have showed up. It was interesting to see some natives. I wish I was a native !!!!! The earth allows us to make it through every day. A lot of people seem to forget about that. It is here and has been always there for us. Let it be here for the future too, because we need it... It does not matter the gender, race, political ideas, spirituality... the earth is the one and only thing that is common to all of us, so everyone with a bit of humanity or at least claiming to be a living organism should be concerned about it. The animal, even though they are 'animals' respect more nature than us, 'humans'. Sometimes I believe that we are the animals, and 'they are the humans...

Well... I am back online. Very busy reading/replying emails so will get back to that post later on another day.
Update: The internet connection is fast and I did not have to wait for anyhting It was much appreciated. It helped me to connect again with long time friends and of course my family. I am caught up with emails and everything else... I have been receiving an incredible of junk mails... It's very bad and annoying. One of my dreams is to print all their junk mails and force them to eat it

The future is not very clear regarding my internet connection right now. Satruday 15th October 2005 is going to be my last day of Internet connection. Not sure when I am going to get it back. I need the net for more than one thing and being without it is quite of a major problem. Wondering if the free AOL trials are still around... damn I should not have thrown them...!

I was watching this flash movie, I found it well done and quite realistic,... unfortunately. Someone sent it to me, and it's from Ekin Caglar's website. It's about 1meg flash movie, so it may take some time before loading. Just go take a nap or something if you are on dial up ... otherwise with cable it's pretty fast.

I was slightly bored so I took a political test. Here are the results: Social Liberal (91% permissive) and an... Economic Liberal (3% permissive) You are best described as a: Socialist You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness. Alt definition: You usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles. There were not a lot of questions but it quite summed up what I was thinking. The first time I took the test I was between Hilarry Clinton and Ghandi. There were one or two questions I did not understand. I took another time the test with the understanding of the question and I was right on Ghandi It's great because I have a lot of respect for Ghandi (who would not ?)
Still working on the website's structure. I have been trying to understand some CSS as I would like to make my website compatible as much as I could. I had the occasion to see my website with some other browers than Internet Explorer and it was pretty bad
I want to try to incorporate CSS, PHP... it's going to be some serious work
I remember when I was a kid that the soap used to last forever. I was sick each time to see that same soap lying there ! Sometimes I would just leave it under the water or scrub it several times all over myself in the hope to see a new soap next time. I was of course hoping for a new soap with new smell and of course it would never happened. But it was always fun to start "a new soap". That was the joy of my showering life. But you know how most of the times your family stick to just the same soap, shampoo, toothpaste... you have it for the rest of your life
Anyways, the point was that the soap used to last forever. Nowdays it's a totally different deal. I noticed that soaps just melt! It's amazing how quickly they go. They hardly last about 10 showers... And I don't think I am washing elephants when I go take a shower...
I guess the beauty industry found a way to make even more money...

Leavander Johnson died following the injuries he got to his brain. I can't understand a sport where the finality is humiliation, physical harm, or death. Even worse are the people watching it.
I could not imagine how much I hated school up to last day when I went back for class... The teacher of the only class I plan to attend (because I have to since it's a small class and some improvement in my english would be welcomed) seems to be like a good teacher. She did know the methods for writing essays in French. I was quite pleasantly surprised... Seemed like someone with some culture. Concerned about her students too, which is not frequent with universities teacher.
But I can't stand people showing up and trying to act 'cool'. The worst is when you see someone wearing sun glasses IN class on a CLOUDY day... Kids...
I hate people trying to act 'cool', because they are fake.
God I hate fake people. So many of them in universities...

I never minded the smell coming from skunks. Until this night. All of suddent out of nowhere a skunk decided to release in front of my opened window.
The problem was not really the smell. It does not actually smell 'bad', it's jsut that it's a very strong smell.... Anyways I was going to pass out had I not turned on my fan

I watched most of Live 8, well whatever CTV (Ch 7) was showing... It really looked nice and well done. A lot of great well known tracks... the only negative part to me was Madonna. There is something I just don't like about her. She is fake and she used more than once the f*** word when it was really not needed. She is talented but she just does too much to draw attention to her.
Pink Floyd... was unqiue. Literraly. Most of everyone else were good too.
Between Pink Flyod, Muse, Coldplay, Nelson Mandela's speech... I hope something went into people's head. Now I wonder how many people will go to Edinburgh the 6th of July to put pressure on the G8 leaders. The more the better I guess

Canada Day was fun. It was my first Canada day, after having been in Canada for 6 years. I know it's quite bad but it was because of circumstances.
The difference between the celebration in France (14th July) is that people in Canada cheers a lot, whereas in France no one really cheers or wears the french flag. Too bad that the bus service was very bad... One would except more frequent bus services ... well it did not seem to be the case The photo is not mine by the way ...

Graduation was the 17th of June 2005... I was impressed by the stage Carleton had set up inside the field house. It looked like they did put some effort into it. I will post the pictures... (I am still working on the gallery, and sorting my pics)
Graduation was as I excepted it. Nothing really special... Considering my situation, it really does not seem that I achieved anything
After graduation it got better though. Can't go wrong with Blue Label

Tonight is my last offical night of being an engineering student. I am saying "official" ... because realisticly I have never been an engineering student... Just a virtual entity. Well I will write an article in the Article section when I get the time on the Educational Institution that society has created. I want to write a few articles actually... but it takes some time so later on when my whole website will be ready
Tonight I saw Charley Pride... I did not know at all this guy... When he started singing I recognized some few songs i guess... I would not have thought he would be singing country... There were a lot of old people... His songs were not bad I guess... pretty mellow but with good rythms. Apparently at RCA records he is the second artist having sold the most albums after the King himself... Elvis Presley.. I guess that make him a queen.
I finally managed to find the soundtrack of The Last Of The Mohicans (A movie that I am a big fan off... 9.5/10). Soundtrack of The Last Of The Mohicans is really beautifull too...

Todday Micheal Jackson was found not guilty of the charges he was being accused off.
I am very glad for him and very happy. I found it pathetic how the mass made accused him and pointed the finger to him. I always supported MJ because he has a good heart (and also because he owns the Beatles catalogue )
I hope that the people who ruined his life are ashamed and realize their stupidity. I hope also that in their tabloids they will read over and over that Jackson was found to be non guilty.
Jackson has done a lot of good and not a lot of people know it. It's been the third time he was not found to be guilty. The money hungry vultures should get over it.
The media and people who accused him should be put on trial for destroying his life.

So I went to the F1 grand prix at Montreal.
If it was not for my cousin, I would have never thought about going to a F1 race. I mean what so exciting to see cars going around for hours... ? So anyways I went at Montreal with Hitesh, Shahin and Vaneet and checked it.
Now I was very surprised. I would have never thought that the cars were that fast. It's one thing to see it on tv and it's something else to see it in real life. It was quite impressive, the speed, sound... At the end of the race, they let everyone get on the racing track wich was pretty fun. I did not bother trying to get the name of the guy who won, all I know is that Shumarer was second (that just shows my interest in F1). But despite that I thought it was a nice thing to see. I will post more pics and videos as soon as I get my new gallery up and working and my pics sorted.
On another note contrary to popular belif I did not find french speakers at Montreal to be rude at all... They were actually very nice... apparently it was because I was speaking french ... But it's a different french so it's hard to say.

At work I found after trying to log off from my computer, I went on the ground to unpplug it because I could not turn it off... And I found a 1 dollar coin... I was so happy !
I just realized right now that it was only 1 dollar... but for some reason it made me very happy even tough usually I just get rid of any kind of change... it was weird.

It's spring... and the squirels and chipmunks are back... but I see a lot of them dead on the roads. While I understand that sometimes there is no way to avoid them, i think it is fair that when one of us hits them, to stop the car and at least put them on the side of the road and let them die somewhere that belongs to them, in their own world that we destroy bit by bit everyday. We came on this planet, put asphalt everywhere, getting the earth balder everyday. We cut their terrirtories like the Wall of Berlin and make our world their graves. This just shows the great world we live in... I don't think it's very fair. I was driving once, and I saw a chipmunk... as I passed by I saw it moving its tail... Poor beast

Today, I felt like this person on the picture on the side... there are just some days you can't do anything about it. Happens... You just have to wait and let it go.

I was playing basket ball, when I saw a car coming and parking on the parking beside the court. From the car I saw coming out two girls (7-8 years old) and their dad. The girls started wearing their protections and padding. At that moment I thought to myself, nice a dad who is pushing his daughters for some physical activities instead of playing with Barbie dolls. So I kept on playing bball and was not paying attention anymore. After a little while, I heard of motor noise... I took a look and surprise... the two girls were on a scooter, but an electric scooter...!
In the old time I remember the kids using their legs. I am not getting the fun about standing on an electric scooter. Where are we going?
Now the funny thing is not the fact that you are standing like an idiot on a toy with a 12volts battery circling around for 10min and probably having to recharge it after for 40min. The funny part is the people who buy these kind of things. It would be like me buying a basket ball that would go in the basket by itself... It defeats the purpose of the material itself. It just shows how much people have forgotten the meaning of something or why they are buying using something.

So pretty much what happened.... some American guy bought this $189 US plan because he wanted to change the hour that was being displayed on the "toolbar" at the bottom of his screen.
Another one just learned today that Ottawa was a city in Canada. Now, that scares me.
Well tonight at work I saw André Rieu, at the Corel Centre. You can usually see his CD ads on TV. And he was there alive a few steps away from me. It was pretty funny
He was pretty funny and did some jokes. There were a lot of old people... and they were dancing some kind of waltz... It was like watching one of those Disney movies actually.
This journal is just about my things in my everyday life that I think would be interesting to share. And that's about it
